Fruit Exchange- Fruit Needed

Fruit trees are great to have but can sometimes produce more fruit than you need. If you find you have too much fruit on your hands, please give us a call. We will come and harvest your excess fruit to share at our Wrigley neighborhood Co-op Food Exchange. Your fruit will be shared among neighbors and friends. Thank you for helping us keep food local.

Sunday Farmers Market

Tomorrow at the Sunday Farmers Market:

Stop by and visit Shortnin Bread's booth as they are featuring canned items from Wrigley Garden. This week we are offering Lemon Curd and Orange-Ginger Marmalade. We are using in season local produce so get them while they are available. All canned items are hand made in small batches - just like Shortnin Bread's wonderful baked goods!

Thanks, see you at the market!

Tatsoi and White Bean Soup

The Soup Swap at the Sunday Farmers Market was a great success. Some of the packaging was adorable! Here is what I came home with. I made Tatsoi and White Bean, recipe listed below.

Tatsoi and White Bean Soup

2 Bunches Tatsoi

4 Cups Chicken Stock

1 Cup Mushrooms

1 Shallot

2 Garlic Cloves

Tbl Grated Ginger

1 lb Dried Small White Beans

Tbl Butter

½ lb Bacon Sliced

Sauté tatsoi in mushrooms, shallot, garlic, ginger and butter

Add chicken stock to mixture

Soak beans overnight (or use 2 cans)

Add tatsoi mixture, beans and bacon to crock pot. Cook until beans are tender.

Enjoy!
