This weeks happenings...

Hello Long Beach Local-

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend. There are a few things happening in town I would like to tell you about.

Tomorrow night at SIP (in the Renaissance Hotel on the corner of Pine and Ocean. 111 East Ocean Boulevard) Chef Michael and crew will be taking some promotional pictures and want to make sure Long Beach Local's are included. If you have not yet been down to the revamped restaurant this is a perfect opportunity. Chef's new menu includes sustainable seafood and meat and the produce is from local farmers markets. Happy Hour - Sunday through Thursday, 4 - 7 pm, Beverages and Appetizers $1 - $6. I highly recommend SIP.

Saturday July 10th please join us at The Factory (4020 Atlantic Av in Bixby Knolls) from 11-7pm for a fundraiser. We will be auctioning off rewards, taking pledges and cash donations to raise money for Farm Lot 59. As I write this email we are inching our way toward our $10,000 goal. We need to raise the remainder of the money by August 28th or we do not receive any of the funds we have raised so far. We cannot do this project without your support. The Bixby Knolls Dragster Expo and Car Show will also be happening right down the road on Atlantic Ave. There will be other local vendors and I heard our favorite bakers, Shortnin Bread will be there. Please come out and support local business while helping us start our little farm in the city.

Sunday we will be at the Sunday Farmers Market at Longfellow Elementary at California and Bixby Rd. This market is an amazing little market and has grown by leaps and bounds. I will be there selling hand tied flower arrangements as well as seeds. You can come chat about gardening, food or Farm Lot 59.

Thanks for all the support and for keeping our dollars local. See you Wednesday at SIP, Saturday at The Factory and Sunday at the Farmers Market.

Happy Growing!
