November calendar and Farm Box!!

Hello Long Beach Local-

I hope fall is treating you well. This Indian summer sure is good for sweetening up our fall crops. They love a little heat before the cooler nights set in.

Thank you to the LA Community Garden Council for the wonderful Halloween event last weekend. Wrigley Garden was there representing Long Beach. It was great to see all the people out in costume supporting gardening and living well. Pictures are up on our facebook page.

And lastly I am excited to announce our Farm Box!!
Long Beach Local in conjunction with beachgreens, a local Long Beach based business, would like to invite you to join our farm box program. beachgreens delivers locally and organically grown produce direct from the farmer to our drop off point at Bella Cosa located at 3803 Atlantic Ave., Long Beach, CA 90807. Pick up day is Wednesday between the hours of 4-6pm.
Farm boxes are a slightly different size than their regular home delivery boxes and cannot be modified but you will receive 7 different types of vegetables, 2 herbs, and 2-3 different types of fruit. Only the freshest in-season produce will be harvested and packed for you. Farm boxes are $30 per week and can be ordered weekly or biweekly with a monthly commitment.
Local farming makes it possible to distribute fresh and pesticide‐free produce to local consumers. The consumer who buys ethically and responsibly farmed products is considered more nutritious because of their freshness. We are providing healthy fresh food for you and your family. The vision of eating well and living healthy lives is possible and easy with our Farm Box. You are helping build a sustainable community and promoting food security for our children and us. Thank you for supporting farm fresh produce.
