Today in the garden...

Thank you to my wonderful gardeners for moving the chicken coop. I was out of town and they were totally successful in moving the ladies. I know those girls can be a handful but am so thankful the coop got rotated. They loved it under the eucalyptus tree but time to work on another grub filled section of the garden. Go chicken go!

Today in the garden we will be doing a little bit of cleaning up. The rains have been wonderful but left things a little messy. The weeds are popping up everywhere but so are the carrots and peas. Nice to have a snack along the way.

Don't forget to enjoy those winter crops. Beets, broccoli, romanesco and all the greens are coming in strong. But its already time to get ready for spring. Time to get those tomatoes, corn and beans started. Hope you all made those seed orders. If not let me know we still have Baker Creek Seeds for sale.

Hope everyone is enjoying these first signs of spring. At our house the daffodils and freesia are blooming and its just beautiful.

Happy growing!

Chix Skool

Thank you to everyone who came down for the Chicken Meet-up group. It was a really good time. Yummy food and great way to start the weekend. You are all welcome back to WG anytime.

Lora talked about starting the Chicken Enthusiasts Meet up Group.

The kids got to meet our gals and see how they live in our garden.
Made some new friends.

Hung out...ate yummy food. Kelli made an amazing quiche and Rachael's biscuits went perfect with my Orange Honey jam.

It was really great.

Thanks!

Baby Chickens - Video

Too cute and funny too. I like the burnouts and spazz running around. They also fall asleep while eating and standing there but I didn't get too much video of that.

Adobo is not a very good mother

I thought since she has been broody for a while she might be able to sit on the baby chix. Nope she sat on the side of the nursery for a while but then just wanted to sit on her pillow of wheat and eat strawberries. What a life.

Chickens!

We made our way out to Riverside and purchased some happy chickens for our coop. Thanks to Ophelia and her family for raising such happy ladies. Thank you for letting them be free roaming and enjoying the sunshine. Thank you for not clipping their beaks which we have heard so much about.
